Your Neighbor

Hi folks, I'm running for 6th ward alderman and I'm going to need your help. Even if you're not in the ward I'm going to need help knocking on doors, mailing postcards, and spreading the word. I grew up here and now I’m raising my family here. BA: University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, supporting coursework: Harvard University, and most important credential, Team Announcer: Elmhurst Eagles 11 Silver. It’s my watch. I'm committed to doing my part to make people's lives better here. I'm a qualified candidate to serve my hometown.

Since moving back, I've been involved at city hall and attended nearly every Board of Education meeting for the last 6 years. I've been a vocal advocate for our local teachers as they struggled through online instruction and unpredictable Covid protocols. At work and in the community, I pride myself in finding common ground with everyone, whether we agree or disagree.

Elmhurst is a safe community! But if you look at social media and The Patch, there's a lot of worry about crime: out of town crime coming in-and-out from the Eisenhower, catalytic converter thefts, and cars being broken into. None of that is fake news but there's a difference between worrying about it and acting upon it.

When I lived in Chicago, I implemented a community text alert system. A few neighbors on the block beta-tested it and then it spread. An engaged block is an easier block to police. I’m committed to enrolling South Elmhurst into the Elmhurst Police Department’s CodeRED app. If you see something, don’t post to Facebook, engage with your neighbors and EPD. If it’s serious EPD will relay the message through CodeRED. We’re all a part of this. That's what it means to be a community.
